Suddenly was in the mood for this. "Spellbound" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Enjoy!
Maraboo Slipperz has avoided the Mainstream most of her life and now she's drowning in it, just keeping her head above water, meeting and rubbing shoulders with a lot of famous people... but don't worry, she's not jaded...yet. So, join us for a peek at the cool Marvels and abject Terrors of Hollywood as seen through the eyes of Maraboo Slipperz.

Results of Best Rock Anthem Ever Poll
The votes have been tallied and it turns out that, though different songs were voted for, every vote for Best Rock Anthem Ever was for a song by The Who!
And since there was a tie between 2 Who songs - "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" -- it is clear that the Best Rock Anthem Ever band is definitely The Who!!!
Woo-hoo...

Maraboo Slipperz Puts Music To Use and You Should Too Sugarfoot! Campaign 2008
Hey Sugarfoots --
I'm tired of just complaining about the lack of music and art education in the USA...
I want to do something about it too!!
And we should try in big ways and small -- sort of like recycling your garbage to save the planet...
So let me introduce you to...(drumroll)
Maraboo Slipperz Puts Music To Use and You Should Too Sugarfoot! Campaign 2008
Here's what I'm doing to kick it off today -- I'm using music to help me do my housework and believe it or not, it's fun... and this is just one example of the multitude of ways music can be used -- and if it's useful, it's valuable...and if it's valuable, then people want it...and if people want it, then The System wants it and voila! Sounds of music fill the hallways of our learning institutions, and then our children have a new line of communication, a new freedom of expression, a new channel for emotions, a new way to share their thoughts and feelings with the world around them, an outlet, a contribution, a talent, a rich experience above our earthly interactions of tests and books and sports and ecomonics...
Sorry, I digress..here's my first contribution to the campaign and how it happened:
As I sat here sipping my morning brew and listening to the soggy sounds of the new day, I listened to my 70's music player (if you scroll down this page, you'll see it on the right -- it's a widget -- the long rectangle thingy "70's Music Search" and if you scroll down inside the little window, you'll see the player)... but you can do this with wherever you keep your music (geez, remember when it was just records and cassettes...)
And Car Wash just came on and all of sudden, I felt an inexplicable urge to polish my precious paperweight collection...oh how I love my paperweight collection, maybe I'll post some photos sometimes to show you
And then, George Benson's On Broadway started playing and I felt like vacuuming! Oh, you have no idea how long it's been since I felt like vacuuming! Ah, the immediate rush of the motor, the sheer surge of power you feel as you make an entire stratosphere of dust disappear...mmmm
Anywho -- that's what I'm going to do -- put music to use to show its value...
Why don't you do it too?
Write me and tell me your favorite way to put music to use and I'll post them -- Spark the Revolution Sugarfoots! Together we can save music...

Rock History in the making on the Sunset Strip
Rock History was made during a wildly awesome show at the Roxy on the famed Sunset Strip in Hollywood Thursday night -- Paul Green's School of Rock Music All Stars played with Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros frontman and Lollapalooza founder)and later, Jon Anderson from Yes took the stage to sing a couple songs with the kids as a super special surprise treat at the end of the show!!!
Students from the local Hollywood and Santa Monica Schools of Rock Music rocked the crowd out and then the All Stars sent us flying into a majestic universe of sublime sound and feeling -- and the icing on this Rock 'N Roll cake was that the proceeds from this amazing musical evening benefitted the Salvation Army and its California wildfire relief fund -- and oh my, Sugarfoots -- what a star-packed crowd!!! Best $12 dollars I've ever spent!!!
Here's some vids for you to Rock to...
Hollywood PGSORM doing "Problem Child" -- a tasty appetizer of their upcoming AC/DC show...
Hollywood PGSORM doing Frank Zappa's "Muffin Man"... I looove it...and that's the uber-talented Carl Restivo from Satellite Party, who happens to be the music director of the Hollywood School guiding the kids thru a cool reggae groove...
Hollywood School doing "Stone Cold Crazy"...oh yeah, they have a "Queen" show coming up as well..I'm so there!
The superb Paul Green School of Rock All-Stars (featuring Jason Hedy from the Hollywood School on bass) doing "Mountain Song" with the fantastically talented Perry Farrell...and look at how much fun Farrell is having!!
And finally, the extraordinary Jon Anderson singing "Owner of a Lonely Heart" with the All Stars...a superlative moment, sorry that I have no white balance on my much loved but cheapy camera...
Rock On, Sugarfoots, Rock On!!
